Just yesterday, Wild Nothing released the debut full-length Gemini, a collection of dreamy synth-pop tracks that exude a somber, bittersweet nostalgia. The solo project of Jack Tatum, Wild Nothing will hit the road this summer as a fourtet, opening for Neon Indian and The Depreciation Guild. You might have stumbled across the hallucinatory cover of Kate Bush’s “Cloudbusting”, a track I’ve been including on many playlists over the last few months. The new album furthers Tatum’s lo-fi sound, richly layered with warped vocals, layered synths and hi-treble guitars, resulting in an intriguing rumination on lost youth.
Gemini is available now on Captured Tracks.
