Christmas is nearly here so we thought we’d roll out some great new holiday tracks this week before posting our year-end list. The first pair come from NY synth-pop band Ice Choir. Spin the dreamy, 80’s-John Hughes vibes of “It’s Different Now” and “Cut Down the Tree” below.
Pure Holiday is available now via Cascine.
A Place To Bury Strangers, who headlined our annual Out In The Streets Festival last summer, are readying the release of their new album Transfixiation, due February 17 on Dead Oceans. Check out the typically ear-blistering album cut “Straight”.
Physical Therapy just released Scraps: Vol. 1, a collection of mixes that finds the producer working with source material from likes of Stardust and Ready For The World. But the standout for us is the killer track “Lurve Ya”, which samples Donna Allen’s 1986 hit “Serious”. Get it.
You can download the entire Scraps: Vol. 1 collection here.
Tonight The Sky Report + Supercrush Studio present Buscabulla live, with Psychic Twin and My Body at Baby’s All Right. Buscabulla also happen to appear on the new Kitsuné Maison 16 compilation with the opening track “Sono”. The compilation is out tomorrow and you can stream “Sono” below.
On November 3 The Sky Report and Supercrush Studio are stoked to present Buscabulla, Psychic Twin, and My Body. That’s right, it’s this Monday night! It all goes down at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg and you can get advanced tickets here. Check out some music from the lineup below.
As a long fan of Joel Ford’s wide array of musical projects and collaborations (Games, Ford & Lopatin, Ejecta, Airbird) I am really stoked to hear this killer new track under his own name. “Breathe” features Ejecta on vocals and is taken from the forthcoming album Fugitive, due early 2015.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Underworld’s landmark album dubnobasswithmyheadman, a newly remastered version has been put together along with a 5-disc deluxe version that features countless rarities, like the previously unheard demo “Birdman”. Who wants to buy this for me?
dubnobasswithmyheadman (remastered) is out October 6 via underworldlive.
